CHIRON Micro5

CHIRON presents Micro5 as a compact five-axis machining route for small medical, watch, jewellery and precision components. The September 2026 reference sheet gives X/Y/Z travel 78/56/50 mm, while the product page names a 50 mm workpiece reference. These are different planning descriptions: simulate the loaded blank, fixture and holder at the intended rotary positions before treating a simple bounding box as machinable.

The current sheet specifies a single milling spindle with maximum speed 60,000 rpm, maximum torque 10.5 Ncm and HSK-EZ15 interface. The torque unit is Ncm, not Nm; maximum speed and torque are not a complete duty curve at the same operating point. Specify the tiny drill or end mill, material, cutting engagement, holder and permitted assembly speed. Larger magazine diameters do not authorise every tool to cut at maximum spindle speed.

The tower-magazine reference gives up to 60 tool options, with Ø18 mm tool diameter or Ø40 mm where adjacent space is clear. Count occupied positions, larger tools and sister tools in one plan. Chip-to-chip time is listed as 3.5 seconds, rapid as 30/30/30 m/min and axis acceleration as 25/25/25 m/s²; these are reference motion/change values, not the complete production cycle. The current product page describes optional handling and up to six pallets; include the exact loader, grippers, fixtures and interfaces in the offer.

The manufacturer’s Swiss product image shows Micro5 with an adjacent handling arrangement, not a promise that automation is included in a base delivery. Trial the complete loaded setup, cleaning/seating, tool-life sequence, interrupted-cycle recovery and representative material. Inspect the smallest features and finish after unclamping under agreed thermal and measurement conditions. CHIRON Swiss is identified as Micro5’s birthplace; confirm the delivered machine’s actual build site and the destination service responsibilities rather than assigning every unit to Taicang.
