CHIRON Micro5 XL

Micro5 XL expands CHIRON’s small-part five-axis route beyond the Micro5 envelope. The September 2026 sheet gives X/Y/Z travel 170/140/120 mm and the product page names a 120 mm workpiece reference. For a watch case, medical component, small mould or thin-walled feature, check the loaded fixture and every tilted tool approach; the nominal linear travels do not guarantee access to a part of that size at every rotary position.

The sheet lists one milling spindle with 40,000 or 50,000 rpm configurations, maximum torque 1.8 Nm and HSK-E25 interface. These speed options belong to the selected build. Request its power/torque curve and duty with the actual cutter diameter, material and engagement. XL’s HSK-E25 interface and torque notation differ from Micro5’s HSK-EZ15 and Ncm value; do not transfer the smaller model’s tools or performance assumptions unchanged.

The tower magazine lists 60 or 100 tools, with Ø30 mm diameter or Ø65 mm where adjacent space is clear. Choose the installed capacity and create an occupied-position map containing form tools, drills, finishing tools and replacements. The sheet gives chip-to-chip time 3.9 seconds, rapid 30/30/30 m/min and acceleration 15/15/20 m/s². A published change interval does not establish loading, cleaning, inspection or the overall output of the part.

The product page describes a 1.7 m² footprint and an automation-compatible operating concept; obtain the actual enclosure, service, loading and utility drawings for the delivered package. Trial the fixture, lubrication, tool wear, five-axis CAM/postprocessor and any automatic transfer using the intended material. Inspect released parts and define burr, finish and dimensional acceptance separately from machine motion references. Confirm contracting entity, build location and the responsible service team; the Taicang factory’s local series are separate product routes.
