Shengong SG630 is part of a large slant-bed CNC lathe series with hard guideways. The published SG630 column permits a maximum cutting diameter of 550 mm for discs and 350 mm for shaft work, with a 1000 mm maximum workpiece length. These values describe different part geometries and must be checked against the proposed workholding.
The A2-8 spindle has a 105 mm through bore and a separate 90 mm bar-capacity rating. Its maximum speed is 2000 rpm and the servo spindle motor is rated at 22 kW. An eight-station servo turret handles the tooling; X and Z travels are 320 and 1000 mm, with 12 and 15 m/min rapid traverse respectively.
The tailstock is moved by the saddle and hydraulically locked, with an MT4 taper and a 100 mm quill stroke. Machine dimensions are listed as 4000 × 2300 × 2200 mm and approximate net weight is 6500 kg. Provide shaft support needs, part mass, cutting material and required control in the RFQ. The larger SG800 has different capacities and is not the specification used here.
Is the spindle bore the maximum usable bar diameter?
No. SG630 lists a 105 mm spindle bore but a 90 mm bar capacity. Check the chuck, drawtube and loading arrangement against the smaller usable rating.
