SMTCL M8 series
Shenyang Machine Tool Co., Ltd. (SMTCL)
Whole original M8.4 image with i5 panel; not an illustration of the Siemens high-specification build.
The original M8 series URL is retained, while the reviewed official material specifically describes M8.4, a five-axis vertical machining centre with moving-beam gantry layout and a two-axis trunnion. Multi-face indexed machining and continuous changes of tool orientation are separate process tasks. Select the actual fixture, control and CAM/postprocessor path rather than assuming that every M8 variant shares these M8.4 values.
All three M8.4 technical columns list X/Y/Z travel 600/680/450 mm, spindle nose-to-table 90–540 mm, A travel ±120° and C travel n × 360°. The standard i5 and Siemens columns give a Ø400 mm table and 200 kg allowed load; the Siemens high-specification technical column gives Ø500 × 420 mm and 300 kg. Review the complete part/fixture sweep, centre of gravity and load/moment conditions; travel or nominal table diameter is not usable tilted-part clearance.
Standard spindle is BT40 at 12000 rpm, with 11/15 kW and 70/96 N·m at the table’s stated 100%/40% duties. The Siemens high-specification column uses HSK63A at 18000 rpm with 25/32 kW and 83/107 N·m at those duties. Standard magazines are 20-tool horizontal umbrella; high-specification is 32-tool chain. All-position tool diameter is 115 mm standard or 75 mm high-specification, rising to 130 mm with an adjacent position empty; length/mass limits are 300 mm/7 kg. Do not count an empty adjacent slot as usable capacity or treat the optional 24000 rpm spindle as standard.
Confirm the exact i5 or SINUMERIK ONE package, five-axis software, postprocessor, rotary-centre calibration and delivered tool/workpiece measurement devices. Trial indexed datum relationships or the actual simultaneous path with the offered holders and clamps; inspect after release and agree thermal/measurement conditions. Catalogue application illustrations and conditional test-piece accuracy claims do not qualify every part. Include loading, tool changes, probing, chip handling and controlled-stop recovery, and use the complete delivered layout for destination utilities and access.
